Review - Witch Doctor #3

Witch Doctor #3 by Image Comics. Written by Brandon Seifert. Drawn by Lukas Ketner. $2.99

In this issue, we get some background on the Witch Doctor's world and himself. But I'm a little disappointed to be honest. The title has been very unique, coming up with new items and apparatus to combat the supernatural creatures he comes in contact too. But in this issue, they fall back on old stand-by's which, again, I was disappointed by.

Basically, without giving away too much, the sword is Excalibur that the good Doctor pulled out of the stone and this is all leading up to Cthulhu type monsters and end of world prophecies. I have never been a big fan of the Cthulhu type stuff so, if you are and love this, tell me to fuck off, lol. But for me, this story was going in a different direction, in my opinion, than any type of comic like this did before. And, for it to fall back on both of these old plot lines kind of cheapened it a bit.

The writing and the art are fantastic as they have been from the start of this title. And over all, it still is a must read comic for horror fans, it is just a shame they decided to go this route with it.
