Review - American Vampire #18

American Vampire #18 by Vertigo/DC Comics. Written by Scott Snyder. Drawn by Rafael Albuquerque. $2.99

This issue marks the end of the Ghost War storyline taking place in World War Two; and I have to say it leaves you hanging.

We finally have a confrontation of Skinner and Pearl leaving only one standing when their weakness is used against them. Hank amazingly isn't turned no matter how many times he seems to get bitten and one member of the military team he was with does survive.

The story does leave you hanging not knowing if one of the main characters is truly dead or will come back when they move to the new era of the 50's.

Again Scott Snyder delivers a new approach to the age old plot of vampires and Rafael's artwork just complements his writing so well. On a side note, the title did win Best New Series from the Eisner Awards, so congratulations to them.

If you like vampires and like history this comic is definitely for you. Horror fans can appreciate the new take on vampires to make this title a all-around fan base title that is a great enjoyable read.
