Review - Chopper #1

Chopper #1 by Asylum Press and Night Owl Productions. Written by Martin Shapiro. Drawn by Juan Ferreyra. $2.99.

Not sure if the comic is being done as a web series, or that the web series is being done as a comic, but one of these is the case for this comic on ChopperLives.com.

I was skeptical about his one, being as it is a type of new version of the headless horseman, but I have to admit it is a interesting take on it. Seems the "bad girl" daughter of a cop, sells drugs and has a personality disorder: IE town druggy and slut, lol. Some of the drugs she sells, unknown to her I'm sure, bring about a headless biker that, well, cuts of the victims heads at least in this issue.

The writing is decent and the artwork is really good as well. So for a starter issue that lays down the ground-work for the entire series, it did really well. Makes me want to check out the web site to see how Tyler Mane plays this biker killer.

Readers should check out this title if for no other reason than it is different, or if your a big fan of the Headless Horseman stories. Myself, I am curious to where this title is going and if it might turn into a full blown movie if it goes over well.
